Typical prices in Abu Dhabi
These are rough market figures for Abu Dhabi in 2026. They vary from shop to shop and by brand:
- Standard (dyed) film on a sedan: about AED 150 to 350
- Heat-rejection film on a sedan: about AED 350 to 600
- Ceramic film on a sedan: about AED 600 to 900
- Large SUVs: about AED 100 to 200 more than a sedan for the same film
What pushes the price up
The film
The biggest factor. Standard film only darkens the glass, heat-rejection film actually cuts heat, and ceramic is the top for both heat rejection and price.
Size of the car
The number of windows and the size of the rear screen. Large cars and cars with a glass roof need more film and more time.
Removing old tint
If the car has old, cracked tint, stripping it and cleaning off the glue adds time and cost.
Warranty
Films with a longer warranty usually cost more, but save you re-tinting after two or three years.
Is heat-rejection film worth paying more for?
In an Abu Dhabi summer, usually yes. Standard film darkens the glass but lets much of the heat through, so the cabin stays hot and the AC works harder. Heat-rejection or ceramic film cuts the heat in a way you feel from day one, even in a lighter shade within the legal limit.
If you spend long hours in the car during the day, or have children in the back, the difference is worth it.
Check these before you choose
- Ask how much light passes through, not just the tint number, because shops use numbers differently
- Make sure the level is within the UAE legal limit of 50%
- Ask how long the warranty is and exactly what it covers
- A very cheap price can mean a film that changes colour after a year
